HOW IN THE HECK DO I SAY KWEI FEI?

It's pronounced KH-WHY FAY.  Not what you thought? Get your mind out of the gutter.

In the words of Montell Jordan - “This is how we do it”

Best way to enjoy Chinese food is family style, that means you get to try a bunch of things. Really not feeling like sharing? I mean, I guess you can, but it’s definitely going to change your experience. Granny Sue might have her food 15 min before you get yours. Get ready to tell a looong story while you’re waiting.

We don’t like to get hung up on rules, so don’t expect there to be an appetizer followed by main. Just grab that fork/chopsticks and dive in.

Want to bring the whole gang?

This style of food is perfect to share parties, but there are a few things to mention. We are not able to seat you until your party is present. All tables of 6 or more will have a combined check with 20% gratuity added.

SPICE IS NICE, BUT IT’S NOT FOR YOU?

Someone once explained it to us like this, Chef works everyday to perfect each dish. It’s a lot like seeing an actor on stage. We hope you’ll give us a chance to give you that performance. That said we know some people just can’t do spice, so we’ve got you covered. There are a couple of items (Gong Bao, Simple Noodle, Green Beans and Dumplings w/ SOS) that we can do for you without any heat. If a little heat is ok then we can do even more.

CAN YOU MAKE IT GLUTEN FREE?

Our kiddo can’t do gluten, so this one hits close to home. Wish we could make everything GF, but there is trace amounts of gluten in the most key ingredients in Sichuan cooking. If it was just a matter of soy then we would happily make substitutions, but it's much more complicated. If you're carb adverse or can tolerate a little gluten in sauces then we have plenty for you to choose from. Right now we have two items we can make GF by request.

DO YOU SERVE ALCOHOL?

This is Charleston! Of course we do. How else do we get through the insane heat? You're also welcome to bring in your own wine for a $15 corkage fee.

RESERVATIONS AND SEATING?

We have walk-in communal style seating. We’ve tried taking reservations in the past, but guests don’t show. Thankfully, now that we’re through the opening rush (Whew! That was a cluster) you shouldn’t see much of a wait. Worst case you can grab a drink at our bar and we can roll that tab on over to your table.

shared Tips

We believe the kitchen contributes as much to your experience as your server or bartender. Everyone on Team Kwei Fei plays an important part in a successful experience for you, so we treat them all equally. All tips (even togo) are shared will all hourly team members.

BUT I ONLY ATE A DUMPLING.

This one causes a kerfuffle, but checks can only be split by fractions of the bill (not by item) between as many cards as you would like.

couple things about sichuan food

No, you’re not having an allergic reaction, it’s those sichuan peppercorns doing what they do. Making the molecules in your lips dance. That “Chili sauce” that’s giving us one star reviews on Google is actually chili oil. Chinese food uses broken sauces instead of emulsified sauces seen in French cooking. It’s just different than some people are used to and that’s ok. We never said we were for everyone, but we sure hope you like it.

I'M A VEGETARIAN.

We love veggies too, so you'll find quite a few vegan items on the menu. The menu changes pretty often, so please check our Menu Page or Insta for this weeks menu options.

are dogs allowed on the patio?

We’re dog lovers too. Bring them on over!

CAN I GET IT TO GO?

Sure! We want to you enjoy where you’re comfortable. Come on to order in person or place your order online.
